His new album, “Hear the Earth,” was originally scheduled for release in mid-July, but due to his 78-year-old father’s health issues, he insisted on returning to Canada for three weeks to visit his family, so the album release date has been postponed to August 10th. Matthew Lien, who married and had children in Taiwan, has chosen to collaborate with a major record label for the first time with Seed Music for his new album release, officially becoming a junior to artists like Wu Ke-qun, Wen Lan, and Guo Shu-yao. Regarding his decision to join a major record label, Matthew Lien stated, “The company didn’t restrict my musical philosophy; instead, they respected it and allowed me to express myself freely. It’s through the channels of a major record label that I hope more people can hear my musical ideas.”
    Originating from the Yukon Territory of Canada, Matthew Lien has spent over a decade in Taiwan, experiencing firsthand the music, culture, every aspect of life, and the daily routines of the people of Taiwan with genuine passion and enthusiasm. He blends his Western musical talent and perspectives, acquired through self-study since childhood, with uniquely Chinese musical and cultural elements, creating a musical style that showcases the core culture and reaches international standards. Matthew Lien, a Golden Melody Award winner and multiple nominees, expressed his delight at the recognition of his music. However, he hopes the public can hear the deeper meaning in his music. He believes that everyone who makes music strives not for awards, but for a greater sense of mission.
    Although Matthew Lien is widely known as an environmental musician, he expresses that his love for the land on which humanity lives is profound, and he also has an equally deep concern for the injustices faced by humanity and all species.
