The zither is one of the oldest plucked string instruments in my country, with a history of over two thousand years. It excels at expressing both beautiful and lyrical melodies and powerful and majestic musical movements.
Fu Na is an outstanding young guzheng performer. She began learning the guzheng at the age of nine under the tutelage of renowned guzheng master Wen Fuze, receiving formal musical training and winning first prize in the Chongqing Instrumental Music Competition. In the 1990s, she studied under Mr. Wang Zhongshan, receiving his true teachings on “rapid fingering.” She is currently a guzheng performer with the Guangdong Provincial Song and Dance Troupe’s National Orchestra. Fu Na’s playing technique is skillful, elegant, and beautiful, combining strength and gentleness. Her playing possesses both traditional charm and a modern flair.<\/div>
