This is a guitar duet recording. The lead performers are Antonio Urzaiz, born in Spain in 1959. He began learning guitar at age 3 and made his stage debut at age 10. Starting in 1979, he recorded his first album as a flamenco guitarist. Since 1980, he has been performing as a soloist on the world stage, recording numerous albums. His playing is highly skilled, with a full, robust volume, brimming with masculine energy, and possessing a distinctly Spanish flavor.
Another is Elton Kranse, born in Germany in 1969. He began learning guitar at the age of six and later pursued advanced studies in classical guitar at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in Austria. He is also a jazz enthusiast and has won numerous awards in international guitar competitions, including the Narcissus Concert in France. He has also given many concerts, leaving his mark on world-renowned concert halls.
The collaboration between these two guitar virtuosos is truly a powerful combination, with their guitars unleashing a dazzling musical impact. The opening piece, “Don Juan,” opens with a bright and lively melody on the lead guitar, while the accompaniment guitar provides vivid syncopation and meticulously crafted romantic notes, offering the listener a refreshing and exhilarating musical experience. The subsequent arrangement of a Czardas Hungarian Dance is even more captivating, with the two guitars performing with incredible skill, seamlessly transitioning between phrases, accompaniment, harmonies, and positional shifts, achieving an irresistible pulsation in the integration of melody, tempo, and rhythm. The subsequent pieces are equally brilliant.
