Info :  In the icy world of Russia during winter, warm-hearted people sing and dance across the vast land, their passionate spirits unfrozen by the coldest season. To the lively rhythms and leaping notes, music and dance become their language. Whether at festivals or gatherings, people play their beloved balalaikas, expressing their joy and the beauty of life.
Today’s balalaika consists of three strings and a triangular soundbox. This was likely the easiest shape for luthiers to create with wood or limited technology. Originally, the instrument had only two strings, mounted on a long-necked, gourd-shaped body. The grand harp is somewhat like a violin, but with only three strings and is not bowed; it’s more like a guitar, played by plucking with the fingers. Its body is triangular and varies in size. This is the historically significant Russian grand harp. The bass grand harp is large, like a cello, but its triangular shape makes it particularly striking in an orchestra. The smaller grand harp is light and delicate, capable of producing lively and cheerful music. The grand harp is 150 years old, and its triangular soundbox was likely created due to the limitations of the wood available to luthiers at the time, or the limited technical skills available, making the triangle the easiest shape to produce.
